Pastor Jack and Diana Stimmel began a 6 month interim pastoral ministry at Keil Alliance Church on December 1, 2015. The following is a brief sketch of their lives, family and ministry background:
Jack was born and raised in a small town in northwestern Ohio. While serving as a hospital corpsman with the Marines in Viet Nam, Jack had a wake-up type call that made him aware of his need for Christ. Soon after his return to the states, he became a genuine Christ-follower. Diana was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. It was on a Young Life ski trip that she made a public confession of her commitment to Christ.
The Stimmels met while students at Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky. They were married in December of 1978. Jack served as Assistant pastor of a church in Bowling Green, Ohio following graduation from seminary. They then planted a church in Jack’s hometown prior to departing for South Korea as international workers with the Christian and Missionary Alliance in 1982. After serving one term in South Korea, the Stimmels returned to serve a two-year term as International Worker-in-Residence at Crown College in Minnesota. The couple continued teaching selected courses at the college for another year when Jack became the Vice President for Student Development. He served in that position until the summer of 1992, when the Stimmels accepted a call to serve as lead pastoral couple at a church in Menomonie, Wisconsin. They served there until May 31, 2010 when they left to begin a new adventure in North and Central Asia. Their ministry, while overseas, involved pasturing the International Church in the capital and serving as Team Leaders for a small team seeking to establish a ministry presence in the country. They concluded their overseas ministry in December of 2013.
Jack and Diana have two grown sons. Joshua lives in Dayton, Ohio where he is employed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. He has a son (our first grandchild) named Owen Jack who is 6 years old. Their younger son Jonathan is married to Julie and lives in Hammond, Wisconsin. They have our granddaughter Brynn Lee who is 7 months old.
